A former lode Au mine located in the center sec. 30, T2N, R14E, MDM, 1.6 km (5,400 feet) WNW of Tuttletown in the Jackass Hill area (NW slope of the hill), on private land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Claim is comprised of 26.98 acres. Logan (1949), PL8 shows the Atlas claim at 26.98 acres and the Soldiers Gulch claim is 15.31 acres.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in amphibolite and schist. The ore body is pinch and swell in form. The vein is a stringer lead of quartz and calcite in altered amphibolite schist, averaging 10 feet in thickness, and in places as great as 30 feet. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 inclined shafts at 450 and 124 feet.
Some ore found in pockets. No other information.
