A former W mine located in the SE¼ (estimated) sec. 32, T24S, R31E, MDM, 2.8 km (9,100 feet) SSE of Posey. Discovered in 1929. Year of first production was 1932. Operated in 1944. Owned by Tungstore Mines, Co. (C. A. Rasmussen and W. A. Trout) (100%), California (1942). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. The first source of tungsten in Tulare County in 1932. No other information available.
Mineralization is hosted in the tactite of a small group of roof pendants in granodiorite (schist, quartzite and limestone). The ore body is irregular in form, strikes NW and dips 53NE to vertical at a thickness of 24.38 meters a width of 4.57 meters and a length of 51.82 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an open cut 200 feet by 100 feet with a maximum depth of 80 feet, plus a crosscut adit 420 feet long, driven beneath the main cut. Underground workings from the adit include 540 feet of drifts and crosscuts and 160 feet of raises.
