A former W-Cu-Mo mine located in secs. 29, 30 & 31, T23S, R36E, MDM, 8.3 km (5.2 miles) ENE of White Dome and about 19 miles NE of Riverkern (reached via Nine Mile Canyon), on private land in a Bureau of Land Management administered wilderness land (Domeland Wilderness) and/or NAtional Forest land. Property consisted of 3 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. The Jupiter claim was worked intermittently in 1942-1943. No idea if any production came from those workings.
Mineralization is hosted in marble and quartz diorite. Two tactite bodies 25 feet long and 300 feet apart occur on the Sierra claim. Tactite with scheelite-rich lenses up to a foot long occur on the Sierra claim. An 8 foot thick tactite layer occur son the Whynot claim.
Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
Workings include surface and underground openings. A 130 foot adit at a height 47 feet below the S exposure was driven on the Sierra claim. Two open cuts and a 100 foot adit were opened on the Jupiter claim. A shallow open cut, 15 feet square, was opened on the Whynot claim.
Production statistics: Year: 1943; period: 1942-1943: ^0.6 To 1.5% WO3.
