A former W-Au occurrence/mine located in the NW¼ (estimated) sec. 17, sec. 19 & in the W½ (estimated) sec. 20, T16S, R28E, MDM, 6.1 km (3.8 miles) WNW of Advance, in the headwaters area of the East Fork Dry Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in marble and quartz diorite. Controls for ore emplacement included a fault. Veins and tactite zone appear to be cut off on the NW by a shear zone and on the E end by a near vertical fault with contact between marble and quartz diorite. The tactite is believed to be of landslide origin. The tactite body in sec. 19 is believed to be the keel of an eroded pendant. A 10 to 25 foot zone of brecciated, recemented garnet-epidote tactite is adjacent to the veins. This zone trends NW and dips 63E. The most persistent quartz veins, 12 to 14 inches wide, lie along the N side of the zone, parallel to it and with a dip of 73E. The tactite appears 40 feet long and may wedge out N & NE by converging faults. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided and/or Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).

Local geologic structures include: Faults: The fault on the East side appears to be pre-mineralization and have a curved surface convex downward. The fault zone is at least 15 feet wide and appears to cut off the tactite on the NW, so it may be entirely post-mineralization.

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of trenches, pits, and open cuts. There is an 8 foot deep shaft at the E end of the pit, and an adit driven 50 feet passed beneath the tactite. The prospect in sec. 19 is developed by a 20 foot trench and a bulldozer cut. The tactite body pinches out along the shear zone.
