A former W-Cu occurrence/mine located in the S½SW¼ (estimated) sec. 17, T23S, R29E, MDM, 5.2 km (3.3 miles) ENE of Fountain Springs, 5.2 km (3.2 miles) WNW of Galley Mountain (coordinates of record), S of Crewdow Mountain and W of Buck Peak. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in limestone. The ore is related to faulting and appears tyo continue at depth and to plunge steeply NE. Controls for ore emplacement included drag folds or overturning adjacent to the fault. The limestone forms a small part of a metamorphic pendant composed predominantly of quartz-hornblende-diopside schist. The pendant has a maximum width of 2,500 feet and trends N70W with a nearly vertical dip, plus drag folding or overturning along the fault contact with granodiorite. Some Cu staining along minor cross-faults. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.

Local geologic structures include: A fault.

Workings include surface openings compried of 6 open cuts along the NW end of the limestone pod. The maximum depth of the largest pit is 20 feet with the adjacent cut at only 10 feet.
