A former W occurrences/mine(s) located in the SE¼SE¼ (estimated) sec. 25, T17S, R28E, MDM, 0.9 km (0.6 mile) SSE of Blossom Peak (coordinates of record) and 3.1 km (1.9 miles) SE of Three Rivers, along an small tributary of the South Fork Kaweah River. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 250 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in mafic gneiss and granodiorite (hornblendite). The ore body strikes N18-30W and dips 80W-vertical. Controls for ore emplacement included a 2 to 5 foot wide shear zone. The rocks are intruded by granites and basic igneous rocks. The sediments range in age from the Kootenai Formation to the Flathead Quartzite. Limestone crops out over the entire hill behind the mine. Granodiorite-limestone contact lies 300 feet to the NW. An aplite dike about 18 inches wide striking N45E, dips gently N, and overlies the deposit. The shear zone does not appear to cut the dike. Tactite in the shear zone in the granodiorite. Some are thin, tabular bodies which follow the bedding planes, but most are chimneys or pockets or very irregular shaped bodies. Scheelite is in tactite fragments and in green clay gouge surrounding the tactite. Narrow veinlets of pure scheelite up to 2 inches in width cut both granite and gouge along the fault.

Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.

Local geologic structures include: A fault.

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of adits, tunnels, and trenches. Two slot-stopes and an adit have been developed the shear zone beneath the aplite dike. The upper stope is 10 feet high by 6 feet wide and 30 feet long. 20 feet below is an adit driven N30W for 60 feet. A second stope in the adit 20 feet is immediately above the adit.

Production information: Some ore was milled during 1954. At the working face, the gouge zone contained as estimated 0.75% WO3. No production figures are available.
