A Cu occurrence located in/about sec. 15, T37N, R6W, MDM, about 0.4 km (1,300 feet) NNW of Red Mountain (coordinates of record) (location not exact), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (sic).
NOTE: Observation: This locality obviously is not well defined regarding its location. There is a stream named Shoemaker Gulch to the E in neighboring Shasta County. Naming custom often named deposit finds after the stream/gulch, etc. where they were located. Based on this circumstance, it is possible that this locality is actually located to the E, and possibly in Shasta County.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite).
