A former Mn mine located in sec. 17, T4S, R6E, HM, 2.4 km (8,000 feet) N of Kekawaka, in the headwaters area of unnamed tributaries of the Eel River on private lease land. Discovered 1942. Owned by White Ranch, California (1974). Operated by Ray F. Helmke, California (1974). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a Mn deposit. High grade ore bed similar in character to ore in the Shell View No. 2 deposit. The ore body strikes N5E. Local rocks include Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
