A Cr occurrence located in secs. 14 & 23 (?), T31N, R10W, MDM, 4.3 km (2.6 miles) SE of Hoosimbim Mountain, in the headwaters area of Johnson Gulch, on National Forest land. Discovered by Ed Schreckengost and son. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
The deposit occurs in one of several dike-like peridotite bodies that are NW-trending across central to SW Trinity County. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains). Only Cr in the vicinity.
Workings include surface operation. Only location work had been done on some of the claims.
Production data: 17 long tons of ore were mined on one unspecified claim and 6 long tons on another unspecified claim.
