A former placer Au mine located in sec. 17, T33N, R8W, MDM, 0.5 km (1,500 feet) NE of Lewiston, along the eastern shore of Lewiston Lake. Owned and operated by the Lewiston Mining Co., California (1991). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: The MRDS file attributes this locality to Trinity County; however, geographic data and coordinates presented in that file place the locality far into Humboldt County. Research revealed that the coordinates provided were in error and the correct value for longitude is 122° versus the stated 123°. The value of 122° places the locality exactly where it is described as being located.
