A Mn occurrence/prospect located in secs. 35 & 36, T5S, R8E, HM (altitude given does not correspond with section location on topo.), 0.6 km (1,900 feet) NW of Wildhorse Peak, on Hulls Creek ½ mile below (N of) the mouth of Jesus Creek. Owned by W. J. Azbill, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters.

NOTE: The township & range do not extend out and the sections stop at 33½, so locality is plotted there instead of at sec. 35.

Mineralization is a Mn deposit. The ore occurs as partly oxidized brown carbonate associated with massive and thin-bedded chert. Chert and ore appear to make up a large block broken from the cliff. Small veinlets of rhodochrosite are numerous. Black manganese oxides are on cracks and surfaces. Brown ore contains numerous, well-preserved radiolarian, tests silica replaced by manganese carbonate. Brown amorphous material mixed with the carbonate is a manganese-bearing opal. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
