A former lode Au-Fe mine located in S½ sec. 13, T34N, R9W, MDM, 2.5 km (8,100 feet) NW of Pettijohn Mountain (on Montgomery Ridge), on National Forest land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is hosted in iron formation and shale. The ore body forms bunches at a thickness of 0.91 meters. The country rock is described as dark gray, fine-grained, basic appearing rock in fresh exposire. It is mostly decomposed and fractures heavily. It is stained with reddish-brown iron oxides. Alteration is local (oxidation). Local rocks include Oligocene nonmarine rocks, unit 1 (Northern California).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an adit on the Little Alice claim. There is a 40 foot surface cut on the R.A.M. group to the W.
