A former lode Au-Cu-Pb-Ag prospect/mine located in secs. 1 & 2, T33N, R8W, MDM (unsurveyed for township, range and section. location projected), 3.3 km (2.1 miles) NNW of Deadwood, off the South Fork Eastman Gulch, on the divide between Eastman Gulch and Jennings Gulch. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in diorite, andesite and greenstone. The ore body strikes N65E and dips 90. A 25 foot thick diorite dike intrudes Copley meta-andesite or greenstone. Local rocks include Paleozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 1 (Eastern Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings. The old adit level involves 150 feet of crosscut and several hundred feet of drifts. Older works include stoping of the vein for a lenght of 300 to 400 feet, to a level 90 feet above. Raises also driven.
Production data are found in: Averill (1941) and in Goodwin (1957).
Production statistics: 1941: period: 1941: estimated more than 12 ounces (339 grams/metric ton) Au/ton. No other production record found. The Au-Ag ratio is 4:1.
