A former lode Au mine located in the W½W½ (estimated) sec. 9, T37N, R7W, MDM, 1.3 km (4,300 feet) NE of Coffee Creek (town), along the Trinity River, between Scorpion Creek and Copper Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a Au deposit. The ore body strikes N40E and dips 40E. Local rocks include Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 420 foot adit, 150 feet of drifts and a 30 foot deep winze.
Production data are found in: Brown (1913).
No specific production record was found. Ore was free-milling and some high-grade ore was found. Said to have produced $20,000 of Au (period values).
