A former lode Au-Fe mine located in the S½S½ sec. 34, T38N, R8W, and in sec. 3, T37N, R8W, MDM, 0.8 km (2,00 feet) ENE of Coffee Creek Ranch, E of Wagner Creek, a tributary of Coffee Creek, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Trinity Alps Wilderness) (0.5 miles E of Coffee Creek Ranch, 2,400 feet N of Coffee Creek). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite and lamprophyre. The ore body is pinch-and-swell in form, strikes N30E and dips 70E at a thickness of 1.52 meters. Ore controls included faults and a shear zone. Granodiorite is intruded by lamprophyre dikes. A mass of serpentine was found a few hundred feet to the N. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 5 (Klamath Mountains).
workings include underground openings comprised of drifts of 150 feet in length on the upper level and 550 feet of drifts on the mill level. Both levels are connected by a 57 foot raise. There also was a millsite and miscellaneous buildings.
