A former placer Au mine located in sec. 36, T37N, R12W, MDM, 9.6 km (6.0 miles) WNW of Thompson Peak, along the North Fork Trinity River and E of Limestone Ridge, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Trinity Alps Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a placer Au deposit hosted in gravels for 5,000 feet along the stream. A thick, fairly rich deposit in pockets near the bedrock. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 7 (Klamath Mountains).
Small amounts of Au produced (1934 ?).
