A Mn occurrence/claim located in the NW¼ sec. 33, T1N, R8E, HM, 4.8 km (3.0 miles) E of Copper Hill, along Long Gulch (on the W bank of Long Gulch, just W of Long Gulch Spring, which is at the intersection of Long Gulch Trail and the trail to Glade Camp. About 2.5 miles by trail S of Bear Wallow forest service road) on National Forest land (located claim). Discovered 1941. Owned by Henry W. Hoelling, California (1974). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a Mn occurrence hosted in chert. The ore body strikes N and dips 50E at a thickness of 6.1 meters and a length of 21.34 meters. Manganese oxide occurs as stains, coatings, fillings, and some penetrations in manganiferous red chert. The chert ore body is 20 feet thick and 50 to 70 feet long. Greenstone separates this from another small outcrop 100 feet to the S. Chert strikes N-S and dips 50E, and is bordered on the W by white chert striking N25E and dipping 40E. Rocks surrounding chert are mainly greenstone. Some neotocite or bementite may be present. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 9 (Western Klamath Mountains).
