A former Cr mine/group of claims located in secs. 20, 21, 28 & 29, T1N, R8E, MDM, (assumed spot on the common corner of the 4 secs.), 3.8 km (2.3 miles) NE of Copper Hill (the claims are located on the ridge near the head of North Post Creek), on National Forest land. Discovered in 1940 by Mr. Henry W. Hoelling, who is/was also the owner. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 to 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a Cr deposit hosted in peridotite. The ore body is lens-shaped. The deposit occurs in one of several dike-like peridotite bodies that are NW-trending across central to SW Trinity County. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 9 (Western Klamath Mountains).
