A former lode Au mine located in secs. 4 & 9, T35N, R11W (UTM estimated. Location estimated from description in reference - uncertain), 4.5 km (2.8 miles) NE of Stoveleg Gap (coordinates of record), along the East Branch East Fork North Fork Trinity River (2 miles NE of the Backbone Ridge lookout), on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Trinity Alps Wilderness) and/or National Forest wilderness land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a Au deposit hosted in mafic intrusive rock. The ore body is lenticular, seam-shaped in form dipping 50SE at a thickness of 0.91 meters. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 7 (Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 120 foot adit run NW from the N bank of the East Branch.
