A former lode and placer [?] Au-As-Pb mine located in sec. 3, T33N, R10W, MDM, 3.3 km (2.0 miles) WNW of Weaverville, N of Grub Gulch and W of West Weaver Creek (on the slope of ridge S of Eastman Gulch [?][this bit of datum apparently pertains to the Gifford Placer Mine, which see for further details]), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in granite. The ore body strikes N40E and dips 45-70SE at a thickness of 0.61 meters. The veins occur in close proximity to a contact between granite and meta-andesite. The contact strikes N-S, and dips 60E. A fault cut by the adit strikes E-W and dips 75S. The vein is faulted 29 feet to the S. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 7 (Klamath Mountains) and/or Paleozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 1 (Eastern Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings. 4 crosscut adits exist at different elevations. The Rickards and Lindermuth tunnel was driven S19W for 700 feet at 180 feet from the portal. It cut a meta-andesite/granite contact. At 680 feet, it cut an E-W fault. A drift 40 feet W on the fault where it cut a N-trending vein. 600 feet from the portal, the tunnel cut a N-S-trending fault. An upraise, 30 feet above the drift, cuts another vein. Above the Richards tunnel, 115 feet, is the Lane tunnel, driven S for 400 feet, then SE 280 feet. 560 feet from the portal of the tunnel, it cuts a meta-andesite/granite contact. A drift 80 feet to the SW cuts an E-W fault. A raise on the fault cut a vein, 5 feet thick. The Wilson-Ehrman tunnel, 155 feet above the Lane tunnel was driven for 460 feet.

Analytical data results: The N-trending vein cut by a fault reportedly assayed $250/ton in Au (period values). Its thickness was 16 inches. Assays of a vein 1 to 2 feet thick, where cut by an upraise, averaged $20/ton in Au (period values). The assay value of shipments made from the property from January, 1907 to October, 1920, ran from 10 to 20 ounces of Au.
