A former lode Au mine located in the S½NE¼ (estimated) asec. 4, T34N, R11W, MDM, 6.3 km (3.9 miles) SSE of Stoveleg Gap, along Barney Gulch, a tributary of the East Fork North Fork Trinity River. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

NOTE: The MRDS database file attributes this mine to the "North Fork District," while it attributes nearby mines, also along the East Fork North Fork Trinity River, to the "East Fork District."

Mineralization is quartz lode deposit hosted in slate. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 7 (Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 400 foot adit, drifts and a stope.

Production data are found in: Brown (1913).

The ore was free-milling and high-quality. This mine is said to have produced over $50,000 of Au (period values). No specific production record was found.

Ore reserve was worked out.
