A former lode Au-Fe mine located in the W½SE¼ (estimated) sec. 8 & sec. 9, T37N, R7W, MDM, 0.4 km (1,300 feet) ENE of Coffee Creek (town), along the Trinity River, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein Au deposit hosted in diorite and porphyry. The ore body strikes N40E and dips 20SE. Local rocks include Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 1,000 foot adit, 400 feet of drifts from an old, 100 foot deep shaft, and 2 stopes (40 feet by 3 feet by 50 feet).
No production record was found. Ore was free-milling. Some high-grade ore was worked in arrastras in the years prior to 1913.
