A former lode Au-Ag-Zn-Pb mine located in secs. 14 & 23, T32N, R9W, MDM, 3.5 km (2.2 miles) W of Mikes Peak (coordinates of record), along Spring Gulch, on the divide between Spring Gulch and Johnson Gulch, tributaries of Indian Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in quartz diorite. The ore body is 0.3 meters thick and outcrops. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 7 (Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 300 foot adit and a drift.
Production data are found in: Averill (1926).
This mine is stated to have produced $5,000 to $6,000 (period values) in high-grade ore which yielded from $100 to $384/ton (period values). No other production information was found.
Analytical data results: An 8 inch thickness of ore assayed $30/ton (period values). The ore was base and contained equal weights in Au and Ag.
