A former lode Au-As-Cu mine located in secs. 9 & 16, T31N, R8W, MDM, 1.5 km (4,800 feet) SW of Bully Choop Mountain (coordinates of record), in the headwaters area of the South Fork Indian Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in mica schist, diorite, gabbro and gneiss. The ore body is pinch and swell in form, strikes N9E, dips 60E at a thickness of 6.1 meters and a length of 762 meters. A small lens of limestone was noted in the area. The vein was disturbed by a fault in the face of tunnel No. 3. The ore was described as low-grade and base as depth was attained. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 7 (Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings. The No. 1 adit is 140 feet long. There is a winze 60 feet deep and stoping of a 6 foot thickness of quartz. The No. 2 adit is 150 feet lower and 400 feet long. No. 3 adit is 50 feet below and 425 feet long with stoping and a 75 foot winze. The No. 4 tunnel is 258 feet below the No. 3 and is 820 feet long. There is also a millsite.
No production record was found. Free-milling ore was found at outcrops.
