A former Cr mine located in sec. 3, T36N, R6W, MDM, 5.0 km (3.1 miles) SE of Wildcat Peak, along an unnamed tributary in the headwaters area of Halls Gulch, near the Shasta County line, on National Forest land. Discovered in 1938 by Sillon W. Massey. Owned by L. L. Hodges. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in peridotite. The deposit occurs in a large body of peridotite that covers approximately 300 square miles of NE Trinity County. Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 4 (Eastern Klamath Mountains).
