A former Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 12, T34N, R11W, MDM (and possibly the NE¼ sec. 13), 1.7 km (5,500 feet) SSW of Canyon City, along Canyon Creek, on National Forest land and/or Bureau of Land Management land (Trinity Alps Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: This mine and the Heimburger Placer Mine are close to each other and may have had common ownership. MRDS contains 2 files, one with each locality name as the principal name and the other as an alternate name.
Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 7 (Klamath Mountains).
