A former Cr occurrence/mine located in secs. 7 & 18, T28N, R10W, MDM (assumed spot at the center of the NE¼ sec. 7), 1.7 km (5,700 feet) N of Round Mountain, on National Forest land. Owned by I. D. Turner (1941). Operated by William Atwood (1941). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in Late Cretaceous serpentinite. The ore body is lenticular at 0.61 meters thick. This group is at the S end of the Beegum Creek body, an irregularly exposed ultramafic belt that trends NW from Little Red Mountain into Trinity County. The exposed ultramfic rock is 3 to 4 km wide in the vicinity of Little Red Mountain. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 9 (Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings included underground and surface openigns. Two tunnels were driven that are now buried by a landslide, and a bench cut (1941).
