A former Cr mine located in sec. 16 (assumed spot at center of sec. 16), T25N, R7W, MDM, 3.7 km (2.3 miles) SE of Franklin Point (coordinates of record) along an unnamed tributary of North Fork Elder Creek. Operator Metro Metals 1965 MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is .

Mineralization is a Cr deposit hosted in rocks of the Knoxville unit (dunite). The ore body is lenticular in form. The occurrence is located near the N end of the Elder Creek mass, a long fault-bounded N-S-trending ultramafic body that is exposed over an area approximately 120 km by 4 km. Alteration is local (partial to complete serpentinization of host rocks). Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).
