A Cr occurrence located in sec. 4 (assumed spot at the center of the SE¼ of sec. 4), T28N, R10W, MDM, 3.1 km (1.9 miles) NW of Little Red Mountain, along unnamed tributary of the Middle Fork Beegum Creek, on National Forest land. Owned by Dave & John Pierson (1943). Operated by Donald Woodrum (1943). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a Cr deposit hosted in serpentinite. The ore body is lenticular. This occurrence is at the S end of the Beegum Creek body, an irregularly exposed ultramafic belt that trends NW from Little Red Mountain into Trinity County. The exposed ultramfic rock is 3 to 4 km wide in the vicinity of Little Red Mountain. Ultramafic rock is at the surface. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include unspecified underground openings.
