A former Cr mine located in sec. 19, T28N, R10W, MDM (assumed spot at the center of the N½ sec. 19), 1.7 km (5,500 feet) SSW of Round Mountain, on the Trinity County line, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 to 1,000 meters (2 MRDS files).
Mineralization is a Cr deposit hosted in serpentinite. The ore body is irregular in form. This occurrence is at the S end of the Beegum Creek body, an irregularly exposed ultramafic belt that trends NW from Little Red Mountain into Trinity County. The exposed ultramfic rock is 3 to 4 km wide in the vicinity of Little Red Mountain. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 9 (Western Klamath Mountains).
