A former volcanic cinders pit located in sec. 11, T44N, R2W, MDM, 0.4 km (1,300 feet) SSW of Horsethief Butte, along Horsethief Creek, on National Forest land. Also located in the S½ sec. 18. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Local rocks include Quaternary volcanic flow rocks, unit 1, questionably identified (Cascade Volcanic Field).
