A Mn occurrence/claim located in sec. 25, T14N, R4E, HM, 2.9 km (9,600 feet) SW of Little Medicine Mountain, near the headwaters of Medicine Creek, a tributary of Copper Creek, which, in sequence, is a tributary of Dillon Creek, on National Forest land. USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in Late Jurassic chert. Thin films of purplish Mn oxide occur within a large, irregular quartzite (metachert) mass. On a fresh surface the rock is brownish, coarse-grained quartzite. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
