A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the W½ (estimated) sec. 15, T20N, R11E, MDM, 4.2 km (2.6 miles) NNE of China Flat (coordinates of record), on the divide between Hog Canyon on the S and Pig Canyon on the N (5 miles NW of Sierra City), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N and dips 75W at a thickness of 1.52 meters. The quartz vein is 4 to 5 feet thick. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of several adits and pits.
