A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the SE¼SE¼ (estimated) sec. 12, T18N, R9E, MDM, about 6 km ESE of Grizzly Gulch (4 miles SW of Alleghany), on National Forest land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body dips vertically at a thickness of 2.44 meters. There are 2 veins. The W vein is 3 feet thick and strikes N10E. The E vein is 6 to 8 feet thick and strikes N5W. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a short adit on each vein.
