Reported placer Au occurrences located in sec. 36, T22N, R9E, MDM, 2.3 km (1.4 miles) SSW of Gibsonville, along the E canyon wall of Slate Creek, WNW of Sugarloaf (summit), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Also locations in secs. 1 & 11, T21N, R9E and in sec. 31, T22N, R9E.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range) and/or undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
