A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the NE¼ (estimated) sec. 3, T18N, R10E, MDM, about SSE of Alleghany and 0.3 km (0.2 mile) NW of Chips Flat, along the S canyon wall of Kanake Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. This mine was acquired and consolidated into the Sixteen-to-One by that mine's owners in the 1950's.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in conglomerate, serpentinite and schist. There are 2 veins, the S extension of the Sixteen-to-One, lying in amphibolite schist & with black slaty conglomerate 250 feet W of the vein. Small serpentine mass occurs along the footwall of the S part of the E vein in the upper adit & on surface. The W vein, known as the Twenty-One vein, may have altered edge of serpentine mass to gossan, same as on the NW extension of the Clinton vein of the Rainbow Mine. It shows continuous quartz to the Spiritualist adit, where it fades to small, poorly-defined slip. The main adit recovers this vein 250 feet W, where it is cut by a steep, W-dipping fault. The vein strikes an average N30W and dips 50-75NW. Fault may be a continuation of the Clinton vein, with flatter dip and may also be the same fault displacing the E vein. The E vein is less regular than the W vein at the lower adits. S of the E vein split, the branches grow less definite. The E branch was followed for 300 feet in the middle adit, where it fades into small stringers in an indefinite hanging wall, which here strikes E of N. The upper adit prospects the probable E branch. Serpentine forms the footwall near the portal. To the S the vein dips 40NE, leaves the serpentine contact, which dips steeply E and is found in schist few feet E. The same N fault that cuts the vein in the middle adit, here displaces the vein but not the serpentine contact. The W vein is regular, without bends & splits, with schist wallrocks, although serpentine may lie overhead. High-grade ore was obtained N of the split in the E vein. The position of a small, high-grade ore shoot in the E vein appears dependent on the junction and may extend to greater depth. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall length of 243.84 meters and comprised of 4 adits totaling 800 feet. A fifth adit, the Spiritualist adit, is of unknown length.

No production on the W vein. The mine was idle for some years before 1934. No other production record was found.
