A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the NE¼ sec. 9, T18N, R10E, MDM, 1.7 km (1.1 miles) SE of Mack House and about 1½ miles SSW of Alleghany, on private land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in gneiss and gabbro. The ore body strikes N40W and dips 38NE. A 4 foot thick vein strikes N35-45W and dips 30-45E. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall length of 213.36 meters and comprised of a 200 foot adit to the vein.
