A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the W½NE¼ (estimated) sec. 10, T18N, R10E, MDM, 0.4 km (0.2 mile) SW of Minnesota Flat, along the upper N canyon wall of the Middle Yuba River, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in gabbro and serpentinite. The ore body strikes N and dips N22W at a thickness of 0.91 meter. There are 2 veins. One strikes N22W and dips 50SW and is up to 1½ feet (45 cm) thick, and is gnetly cut by the second vein, which, at the junction has a N strike and dips 82W & near the face strikes N5-10E and dips SSW. It ranges from a stringer against the hanging wall to a vein 3 feet thick. It is well-sheared. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is . Local rocks include Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of surface cuts and 1 adit at 140 feet long.
