A former lode & placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 17, T19N, R9E, MDM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) NNW of Indian Hill (townsite) along the S canyon wall of the North Yuba River (N slope of Indian Hill) (6 miles SW of Goodyears Bar), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit and placer occurrence. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
