A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 17, T19N, R9E, MDM, 0.8 km (0.5 mile) NNE of Indian Hill (townsite), along the S canyon wall of the North Yuba River at Indian Valley. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: The USGS MRDS database file #10141068 presents geographic coordinates of 39.51407N, 121.99166W, placing this locality far to the W of Sierra County, along the Sacramento River. The Longitude value is in error. Correction to 120.99166 degrees of longitude places the locality in sec. 17, the stated location.
