A former lode Au-Ag-Cu-Pb-Zn occurrence/mine located in the SW¼NE¼ sec. 28, T20N, R11E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.8 mile) NNE of China Flat (coordinates of record), and about 8.3 km ENE of Downieville, along the W canyon wall of Gold Point Ravine, N of the North Yuba River (5¾ miles W of Sierra City), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Intermittently active.

NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10140904 presents discrepant data relative to the other 2 MRDS files and places this mine in sec. 4, T19N, R10E, MDM, with coordinates of -120.86463, 39.54428. Those coordinates place it along the S canyon wall of the North Yuba River, E of Goodyears Bar (also in the Downieville area). There is an adit symbol on the topo map at this location. This file also states that the accuracy is 5,000 meters. It also states that the owner/operator is Kenrell Resources, California (1980).

The coordinates provided by the other 2 MRDS files places this mine along Gold Point Ravine at a named mine symbol for the Gold Point Mine, thus, the coordinates presented in file #10140904 are probably in error.

Mineralization is a vein deposit with ore shoots hosted in granite and porphyry. 20% of the Au is free. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 1,125 foot adit with 700 feet on the vein.

Production data are found in: McCulloch, W.C., Oesterling, W.A., Spurck, W.H., & Tischler, M.S. (1964).

Analytical data results: Cncentrates of about 2.7 per bulk (??)(percent of bulk ?) gave 7.12% Pb, 1.34% Zn and 0.54% Cu plus Au:Ag of 4:3.
