A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 20, T20N, R10E, MDM, 1.6 km (1.0 mile) W of Red Ant, along the W canyon wall of Goodyears Creek at its confluence with Eureka Creek (2½ miles NW of Downieville), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. An old mine from the 1930-1936 period.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in schist, plutonic rock and Late Permian slate. The ore body is pinch-and-swell in form, strikes S20E and dips 80E at a thickness of 2.13 meters. The vein is 7 inches (17.5 cm) to 7 feet (2.2 meters) thick on a contact between an amphibolite schist footwall and a slate, schist & dikes hanging wall. Country rock is characteristic of the Alleghany-Downieville serpentine belt. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 45.72 meters and comprised of a 150 foot shaft with about 515 feet of drifts, a 1,100 foot adit and an approximate 250 foot raise.

Ore grade was said to vary between $12 & $15 (period values) Au/ton.
