A former lode Au-Cr mine located in the W½ (?) (estimated) sec. 29 & E½ sec. 30 (?) (estimated), T19N, R10E, MDM, 1.5 km (1.0 mile) S of Old Mountain House, E of Brush Creek and W of Mountain House Road (about 2½ miles NW of Alleghany; 2¼ miles W of Forest), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a chromite lens hosted in serpentine and slate and a vein deposit. The ore body dips SW. The vein lies along the same zone of slate-serpentine contact as the Kate HArdy and Brush Creek Mines. The serpentine cuts the slate sharply in places and there is a crushed zone in places. Thus it is thought that the slate yielded unevenly to pressures exerted during serpentinization. Quartz occurs in discontinuous stringers, sometimes following slaty cleavage, sometimes cutting across it and introduced after slate crushing, since the stringers are unbroken. Au also present. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 6 (Northwestern Sierra Nevada) and/or Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 2 adits on opposite sides of a small tributary to Brush Creek.
