A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 29, T19N, R10E, MDM, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) WSW of Forest, 2.3 km (1.4 miles) SE of Old Mountain House, and about 3.3 km (1.9 miles) NW of Alleghany, on the divide at the confluence of Oregon Creek and Lucky Dog Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. East of the S workings of the Eureka. Adits driven on both sides of the creek. NOTE: Alternate geographic coordinates provided are: 39.4850006104 -120.87916564900002. These place the mine somewhat to the W, along the W side of Lucky Dog Creek.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in gabbro and granite. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE. The vein may be continuous with the E branch of the Eureka vein. Many other small veins of irregular attitude but with mainly N strike, with dip. Gabbro is cut by small granite dikes which strike general N. In some of the smaller dikes are irregular vein-like segregated deposits of quartz that also contain a little chalcedony. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).

Workings include underground openings comprised of an adit(s).
