A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the NE¼ sec. 10, T19N, R10E, MDM, about 3.5 km (2 miles) SSW of Downieville, along the W ridge of the West Fork Slug Canyon in the headwaters area, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. The Triple Pocket adjoins on the N and the Carson on the S.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in serpentinite, slate and schist. The ore body strikes NW and dips 45E. The main vein follows a steep contact of slate and serpentine, sometimes running quartz stringers into the slate hanging wall. The footwall serpentine is mineralized in places with dolomite-quartz rock & bluejay. Some faulting nearly parallel to the strike & dip of the main contact, with mineralization probably simultaneous or soon after. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 adits. The first has 1,400 feet of backs on the vein. The second adit is 360 feet lower than the upper, and is 1,500 feet long with crosscuts.

No other production record was found.
There was considerable milling ore.
