A Cr occurrence/prospect/mine located in sec. 29, T20N, R10E, MDM, about 4.6 km (3 miles) WNW of Downieville, along Goodyears Creek, E of Bald Mountain and NW of Grizzly Peak, on National Forest land. Owned by W.W. Casserly, Goodyears Bar, California (1918- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Assumed spot in the center of the E½ sec. 29.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
As of 1918, Casserly had mined or exposed approximately 40 long tons of ore.
