A former lode Au mine located in sec. 32, T33N, R5W, MDM, (coordinates estimated), 0.7 km (2,400 feet) SSW of Motion (about half way between Motion and Matheson along the Sacramento River), on the SE slope of Copley Mountain. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granitoid and porphyry. The ore body strikes NW and dips 60NE at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The oxide zone near surface grades downward to the sulphide zone. Local rocks include Paleozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 1 (Eastern Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings consisting of a 310 foot adit, 60 feet of drifts and a 60 foot stope. Originally mined on surface.
