A Cu-Fe occurrence/prospect located in secs. 29 & 32, T33N, R1W, MDM, 1.9 km (6,200 feet) ESE of Oak Run, along the northern branch of Clover Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in rhyolite. The ore body is irregular in shape, strikes N65W and dips vertically at a width of 9.14 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included shear zones. The rhyolite is capped by basalt. The exposure of rhyolite is along a channel cut by Clover Creek. A diorite dike occurs along the W side of the creek. It is 40 feet wide. Oxides of Cu occur above the water level; chalcopyrite below the water level. Local rocks include Eocene nonmarine rocks, unit 1 (Northern and Central California).
Local structures include a fault.
Workings include underground openings at a length of 27.13 meters. The prospect was explored by an adit driven 80 feet SW, and by a winze 9 feet deep 20 feet from the portal.
