A former Hg occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NE¼SW¼ sec. 24, T8S, R1E, MDM, about 4.8 km N of New Almaden and 4.9 km (3.1 miles) S of the Edenvale neighborhood of San Jose proper, along the N slope of the Santa Teresa Hills. Discovered and worked in 1903. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in Late Cretaceous serpentinite. The ore body is irregular. Controls for ore emplacement included local fractures and vugs. Local alteration includes silica carbonate alteration of serpentine. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Local geologic structures include a serpentine-sandstone contact.
Workings include unspecified underground openings with a length of 609.6 meters (the topo map reflects 3 adit symbols labeled as this mine at this point).
