A former Hg occurrence/mine located in sec. 3, T9S, R1E, MDM, WSW of New Almaden (near the crest of Mine Hill; location of the Washington shaft is uncertain), on county owned land (Almaden Quicksilver County Park). Discovered prior to 1864. Produced during the period 1898 to 1902. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is hosted in Late Cretaceous serpentinite. The ore body is irregular at a width of 67.06 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included fractures and silica carbonation. Local alteration includes the silica carbonate alteration of serpentine. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan melange.

Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 609.6 meters.

Production data are found in: Bailey and Everhart (1964).
